The county of Monaghan has many attractions and is looking ahead to an even brighter future. When one considers Co Monaghan, many references spring to mind.

Some will think of the celebrated names that have come from there, among them the poet Patrick Kavanagh who was a native of the village Inniskeen, theatrical producer Tyrone Guthrie of Annaghmarkerrig House near Newbliss, and boxer Barry McGuigan who hails from Clones town. In terms of industry, most people will recall the many sectors that Monaghan has been famous for over the years: lace, furniture and, predominantly, agrifoods. Or perhaps others will picture the undulating countryside with its many lakes and gentle hills.
