Brayel Kelly of Calumet City, Illinois, a nephew of R&B singer R. Kelly, was singing his own version of the blues after he attempted a robbery. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, on November 6, Kelly was shot by the owner of the Marvelous Cuts Barber Shop after firing the first shot and missing his target.
The shop owner told police a male subject came in for a haircut and afterwards pulled a gun demanding jewelry and money. The robber told him to place the items in a plastic bag. As the victim handed the suspect the bag, he grabbed his own weapon, but the suspect fired first. The victim then fired at the suspect, who fled. Police indicated that they ...
