"Saturday Night Live" got a gift from Senator John McCain on August 29th, when he selected as his running mate Governor Sarah Palin: she looked like a Tina Fey character come to life. Sure enough, the show's thirty-fourth-season premiere, on September 13th, began with Fey, a former cast member, as Palin, and Amy Poehler, a current cast member, as Senator Hillary Clinton.
