BARMY council chiefs are paying a "credit crunch buster" GBP100,000 a year to help teach struggling firms how to save money.
The bureaucrats believe creating the post with its massive salary will help firms to survive the economic crisis.
Critics of the Labour-run council were shocked when it advertised the post of Director of Economic Development for GBP93,180 a year, plus GBP5,300 car allowance - all to be paid from the public purse.
And they have demanded that if the financial situation does not improve, Lancashire County Council must sack its new "credit crunch guru" to save money. …
