TWO Tyneside post offices are set to make a fresh start in 2009.
Amid the recent closures that have dogged the ailing service and angered many communities, the branches in Newcastle's Lemington and High Heaton are set to remain.
The Lemington Post Office, currently based in Tyne View, will relocate to new premises just 50 yards away.
The move sees the facilities transferred to a newsagent from Monday, January 26.
The new branch will offer longer opening hours to include lunchtimes and Wednesday afternoons and an induction-hearing loop for those with hearing difficulties.
Ian Carlton, from Post Office Ltd, said: "Unfortunately, there will be a short break in service between January 22-25 to allow the transfer of the business to take place. During this period, customers will be advised to use Newburn Post Office ...
