THE credit crunch could mean more people lose their sight as they save cash by avoiding eye tests, a charity said yesterday.

Action for Blind People said one sight assessment every two years would cost only the equivalent of pounds 1 per month.

In a poll carried out for the charity by YouGov, more than a quarter of 2,350 adults asked had not had an eye test in the past two years, and 30% said cost was the reason.
