A GRITTER lorry tipped over after a north-east road gave way under its weight when it pulled in to let a car pass.

A small section of the Cairn o' Mount road near Banchory collapsed after the truck stopped, causing the vehicle to fall down an embankment.

The driver was unhurt in the incident, which is understood to have happened at about 6am yesterday.
