POLICE are hunting for a convicted sex offender who has been missing for a week.

Robert Marr, who lives in Perth, has not been seen since he left Inverness on December 23.

Marr was sentenced to five years in prison, with an extended period of two years, at Edinburgh High Court in October 2002.

The 34-year-old was convicted of assault with intent to rape after he dragged a pensioner into a bedroom on the end of a dog lead and attempted to rape her.

The woman had invited him in for a cup of tea after noticing him outside in the street.
