BEIJING, Jan 1 Asia Pulse - Korean-based LG Mobile announced Tuesday that it would invest 1 billion yuan (US$146.6 million) in China's cell phone market in 2009, which would be the largest yearly investment amount it injects in China, Beijing Times reported.
According to Jin Kai, vice present of LG Mobile China, the investment would be mainly used in the market as well as sales channel construction.
Meanwhile, LG Mobile would increase its investment on technology innovation, product research and development, human resource, advertisement, public relations and communication.
The mobile phone producer plans to expand its new product variety from around 20 types per year to 60 types, including 35 for GSM network, 15 for CDMA network, and 10 for 3G, in 2009.
