DHAKA, Jan 1 Asia Pulse - A new department will be established under the Bangladesh Commerce Ministry entitled the Consumer Rights Protection Department, to enforce the newly enacted Consumer Rights Protection Law.
The decision came from the first meeting of the National Consumer Rights Protection Council (NCRPC) held at the Commerce Ministry today (Wednesday) with Commerce Adviser Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman in the chair.
After the meeting, Rahman said a six-member standing committee of NCRPC was formed to prepare guidelines and an organogram for the proposed new department to protect consumer's right and prevent anti-consumer activities.
