Vietnam: Expanded Hanoi needs 15 more hospitals.

Section: General News - The capital city of Hanoi needs between 10-15 new hospitals to meet growing demand of its population which now reaches 6.3 million as a result of the city boundary expansion.

Most of hospitals in the city are seriously overloaded, said head of Hanoi's Health Care Service Le Anh Tuan.

He referred to the fact that there are only 12 hospital beds for 10,000 people on average while the Government has set the target to provide 20.5 hospital beds per 10,000 by 2010.
