[Correspondent] Residents of Aktau are against construction of a nuclear station in [western] Mangistau Region. Activists of nongovernmental organizations addressed the [Kazakh] president with a request to impose a moratorium on its construction. A regular public hearing began with a scandal.

The population of Aktau brought protest posters to the public hearing on the construction of the nuclear station. They do not want a nuclear reactor to be built in their region.

The protests started at the beginning of the meeting. The public did not even listen to a presentation …
