It's much harder to walk the talk in 5-inch heels, but 63 fraternity members at Centre College KY donned the red footwear and walked through downtown Danville to call attention to violence against women, raise money and inject a little humor into a serious topic.
The school's intrafraternity council organized the walk, in which about 100 members joined wearing sensible shoes, while sorority members handed out water and antibiotic ointment along the route.
Walkers were inspired by a professor, who described the effects of his wife's sexual assault on their lives. They raised about $2,000 and many blisters, according to a council leader.
