A tenured University of California at Irvine molecular biology professor is facing unpaid leave for refusing to take part in training to help prevent sexual harassment.
Alexander McPherson, 64, called the training a "sham" and has consistently refused to attend the sessions because they violate "my rights as a tenured professor." He later skipped the training session, saying he was busy with "an experiment that's going to take up all of my time this morning."
