Florida Gulf Coast University has settled gender bias lawsuits with two former coaches and a former general counsel for $4.2 million.
The university made a $3.4 million settlement with a former volleyball coach and a former women's golf coach after they sued, claiming retaliation and defamation after voicing concerns over alleged inequitable treatment of women's sports and coaches.
The school also agreed to an $800,000 settlement with its former general counsel, who also claimed retaliation for her trying to resolve gender equity concerns.
