MTNA and Playhouse Disney: making music together.(Forum Focus: Arts Awareness and Advocacy)(Music Teachers National Association)
MTNA has partnered with Playhouse Disney to help educate parents about music for preschool-age children. A section on the Playhouse Disney website at www.playhousedisney.com is devoted to answering questions that parents may have about music education. This "Ask an Expert" section features eight musicians or music leaders who each answer a number of questions. MTNA Executive Director and CEO Gary Ingle represents MTNA on the site. Other experts on the site include: Jessica Anne Barron, founder of Guitars in the Classroom; Lynn Brinckmeyer, immediate-past president of the National Association for Music Education; Tish Ciravolo, founder of Daisy Rock guitars; Gayle Kowalchyk, keyboard editor for Supplementary Piano Publications for Alfred Publishing; Joe Lamond, president of NAMM; Mitch Newman, violinist and cofounder/conductor of the West Los Angeles College Summer Youth Orchestra; and Scott Sumerhays, president of the National Association of School Music Dealers.
