Section: Business News - Thailand's continuing sluggish economy coupled with expected massive layoffs of workers -- as many as one million next year -- have prompted representatives of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) to discuss relief measures on Thursday with senior members of the Democrat Party which is now forming a new coalition government.
FTI chairman Santi Vilassakdanont said the federation will propose to Prime Minister-elect Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, three major measures for the coalition government to implement when the new administration is formed, probably before the end of December.
