Philippines: PASG, NBI prevent entry of poultry products with bird flu virus at the ports.

Section: General News - After Hong Kong authorities destroyed thousands of their poultry products suspected to have been afflicted with the deadly virus bird flu, the Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group-National Bureau of Investigation Special Operations Group (PASG-NBI-SOG) immediately tightened the noose on importers of chicken meat to ensure that no surplus from Hong Kong or China would find its way into the local market.

Stressing that they are not taking chances, PASG Head Antonio Villar Jr. said there is a need to employ man-to-man guarding to ensure that these bird flu afflicted chicken would not reach the country.
