On October 25, a Cape Girardeau, Missouri, woman was at the mercy of an attacker, Ronnie Preyer, 47. He invaded her home and raped her. Preyer, a registered sex offender, committed that crime and managed to escape and elude the police. Then six days later he came back to attack her a second time.
But in the meantime, the 57-year-old woman had armed herself with a shotgun borrowed from a friend. When Preyer returned, forced his way into his victim's home a second time, and smashed through a window and a door to get to the victim, she was able to defend herself, and shot and killed this violent career criminal.
Preyer, of Jackson, Missouri, died seven hours after being shot in the chest. Cape Girardeau prosecuting attorney Morley Swingle confirmed in the local Heartland News that the victim ...
