Speed limits could be slashed across the East Riding as part of a safety drive on the region's roads.

East Riding Council's traffic team is reviewing speed limits on all A and B roads, in line with Government guidelines.

The move aims to help cut the number of deaths and serious injuries on the region's roads.

Last year, 28 people were killed and 220 seriously injured on East Riding roads - the first increase in recent years.

The council is now pressing forward with a rolling programme to review speed limits across the road network.
