A charity which has raised thousands of pounds for children's charities by running a tea service in Elgin Sheriff Court will be replaced by vending machines when the refurbishment of the building is complete.

Work on the GBP700,000 project began in October and the small stall, run by Beanfeast volunteers in the corridor outside the court, was shut down.

The charity has raised GBP12,000 over the past five years by selling drinks and snacks to solicitors and people attending the court.

The money has been used to support 22 children's charities, including local organisations …
