A Cleveland area pet shop owner and spry octogenarian recently used his gun to kill an attacker and protect his employee and his aviary when it became the target of a third attempted robbery on October 27.
Expressing great relief that her father was safe after the violent attack, daughter Maria Oviero related the events of that Monday afternoon to a staff reporter for MyFox8, a local Fox TV affiliate. She explained that a man with a knife in hand suddenly ran into the store, attacked the clerk, and holding the knife blade to his throat, ordered the clerk to open the cash register and give him the money.
