Shu Uemura is in bloom, thanks to Tokyo art star Mika Ninagawa.
Kaleidoscopic color and a lust for larger-than-life flowers are the unmistakable calling cards of Japanese photographer/director and all-around sensation Mika Ninagawa. She's published more than 40 photography books; she's represented by the same Tokyo gallery that introduced Takashi Murakami to the world; and her directorial debut, Sakuran, was selected for the 2007 Berlin Film Festival. Ninagawa is no stranger to fashion, either: She created abstract, floral-splashed prints for Cline and charming, rose-covered knits for cashmere king Lucien Pellat-Finet.
