Media mischief.(Letter to the editor)

Why is there this media upheaval bordering, in some cases, upon disgust in the selection of Sarah Palin? ("Sarah Who?" September 29 issue of TNA; "Media Darlings," October 13 issue) Could it be as simple as the media's injured vanity since McCain and his staff were able to keep her selection secret? Since the magnitude of a lead story about an unknown would have been a media blockbuster, being kept in the dark could be unforgivable.

Unfortunately, I don't think it is that simple! No, this secretive political coup has come to signify more than a surprising vice-presidential choice. Our expensive federal bureaucracy is reeling with disbelief and shock at the probability for real change.
