AT&T plans to invest in Telecom Italia.

Communications holding company AT&T Inc (NYSE: T) on Sunday (1 April) announced that the company is in negotiations for a potential indirect investment in Telecom Italia S.p.A.
AT&T said that the proposal is for the company to purchase a one-third stake in Olimpia S.p.A., a holding company with approximately 18% of Telecom Italia's ordinary shares, from Pirelli & C S.p.A., which owns 80% of Olimpia.
