NATIONAL CREDIT EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR
The National Credit Executive of the Year Award seeks to single out an individual who has made significant contributions to the credit profession at the national level. Volunteer leadership is an essential core attribute for award recipients. A dedication to continued learning and the dogged pursuit of education is also a must, be it through attending conferences, seminars or programs. The National Credit Executive of the Year must be held in high esteem by his or her peers. Many achievers are instructors or speakers, intent on sharing both knowledge and expertise.

George Schnupp, CCE is the 2008 National Credit Executive of the Year. He currently serves as the U.S. director of credit for Anixter, Inc. in Chicago, a leading supplier of communications products that connect voice, video, data and security systems.
For more than 30 years, Schnupp has been a dedicated and generous advocate for the credit profession as a practitioner, educator and mentor. He may be best known as one of NACM's indefatigable instructors, leading students through the intricacies of business credit principles, financial accounting, financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment and essentials of finance. He is a long-time faculty member of the Midwest School of Credit and has taught many classes at NACM-National headquarters and during Credit Congress. As well, he was recently profiled in the November/December 2007 issue of this magazine.
Schnupp explains, "My passion is to get [in]to the classroom and give or pass my knowledge back because that's what teaching is all about. In the credit community, being that I'm an instructor and a worker, all of my teachings are applicable since I actually do it."
Among his long list of accomplishments, Schnupp formerly chaired NACM-National's Credit Administration Program Instructors' Committee and served as a member of the National Accreditation Committee, the National Education Committee and the National Credit Administration Program Committee.
