DAVID O'LEARY is the main threat to QPR caretaker-boss Gareth Ainsworth being installed permanently.

The Daily Star Sunday can reveal that former Leeds and Aston Villa boss O'Leary (left) is firmly in the frame to succeed sacked Iain Dowie at Loftus Road.

Ainsworth is known to have impressed one of the three co-owners of Rangers - chairman Flavio Briatore, also Renault's Formula One team boss.
