We live in uncertain times, but despite the generally bleak economic outlook, some sectors continue to thrive. As IWR reported last month, research organisation Outsell is optimistic about prospects for the information industry, with an annual growth of 4.5% expected for the next three years.

Predictions for the news aggregation sector are for more modest growth. While Outsell expects the news provider segment to shrink, news aggregators are shielded from some of the problems hitting the providers, such as falling advertising sales, dwindling numbers of readers and competition from the web.
