SIR: In the September Quadrant, an article on Australia's universities ("Hijacking Terrorism Studies") refers extensively to the book Terror: From Tyrannicide to Terrorism. In doing so the author of the article claims that the book and its contributors defend terrorism and are "pro-terrorist". This is a wholesale misrepresentation of the aims, objectives, and contents of the book. It is one among many misrepresentations and unsubstantiated allegations that are too numerous to mention and counter at length. As an editor of and contributor to Terror, let me reassure you that the editors, contributors, reviewers, and publishers of the book are not supporters of terrorism, are not defenders of terrorism, and are not pro-terrorist.
