INDONESIA'S PANIN BANK CHALKS UP Q3 NET PROFIT OF US$62 MLN.(Financial report)
JAKARTA, Oct. 31 Asia Pulse - Indonesia's PT Bank Panin Tbk (JSX:PNBN) in the third quarter of 2008 booked a net profit of Rp672 billion (US$62.5 million) thanks to an increase in its interest and fee-based earnings, a spokesperson said.
Speaking at a press conference here Friday, Panin Bank Vice President Director Roosniati Salihin said the bank's net interest earnings amounted to Rp1.99 trillion or up 10 per cent, while its net profit after deduction of minority rights increased 3.1 per cent to Rp672 billion.
However, the bank's fee-based income dropped to Rp429 billion from Rp474 billion, mainly due to the impact of the market turmoil and a significant drop in the volume of commercial paper trading.
