SYDNEY, Nov 3 Asia Pulse - The Australian sharemarket has opened higher, buoyed by rises in financial stocks, after Wall Street rallied on Friday.
At 1015 AEDT, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 80.9 points, or 2.01 per cent, at 4,098.9, while the broader All Ordinaries had gained 77.6 points, or 1.95 per cent, to 4,060.3.
On the Sydney Futures Exchange, the December share price index futures contract was 66 points higher at 4,102 on a volume of 6,879 contracts.
The financial sector was stronger. ANZ shares lifted 34 cents, or 1.96 per cent, to $17.70, National Australia Bank rose 60 cents, or 2.5 per cent, to $24.59 and Commonwealth Bank gained 52 cents, or 1.29 per cent, to $40.82.
Westpac lifted 58 cents, or 2.86 per cent, to $20.86 and St George Bank was 40 cents higher, or 1.44 per cent, to .10.
