Two German architects were beaten and robbed while returning home in southern Moscow, police and colleagues said Monday.

Werner Redeleit and Moriz Maedebach were attacked by three unidentified assailants at around 2 a.m. Friday morning on Ulitsa Musy Dzhalilya, near the Krasnogvardeiskaya metro station, said Natalya Maltseva, a spokeswoman for the city police's southern district branch.

The attackers stole three cell phones, a camera and 200 rubles, Maltseva said. Redeleit, 59, and Maedebach, 28, were returning home from work and were assaulted after exiting a taxi, she added.
