NEWCASTLE city centre was turned into a scene from a horror film yesterday as students put on a Halloween show for shoppers.
A flash mob descended on Grey's Monument and acted as zombies before performing the routine from Michael Jackson's Thriller video.
About 50 students turned up for the event, which was organised through text messages and emails.
Lewis Still, vice president of student activities and development at Northumbria Students' Union, said: "This was my first flash mob.
"As it's Halloween I decided to go for the Thriller theme and we actually had a choreographer who knew the dance. We went from there and did the dance routine yesterday.
