A WOMAN was held prisoner by her own son who put a knife to her throat in a stand-off with police, a court heard.
Lynne Chambers called police with the agreement of her son Anthony Lynch who told her he wanted help because he heard voices in his head and feared he would kill someone, Newcastle Crown Court was told.
But when officers arrived at their home in Fitzroy Terrace, Southwick, Sunderland, Lynch ordered them to leave, pressed a knife to his mother's throat and threatened to cut it, said Julian Smith, prosecuting.
