Metal bassinet bars are covered by fabric flap attached by Velcro. Fabric is folded down when bassinet is converted into bed-side co-sleeping position. If Velcro isn't properly re-secured after flap is adjusted, infant can slip through opening between bars, which are spaced farther apart than the 2 3/8 inches maximum allowed by federal crib safety standard. Two infants have been strangled.
