A new range of wines packaged in 20cl aluminium cans has been developed by a Dutch company called Vinovation International.

The wines, under the Wild Pelican brand, are sourced from Spain, South Africa and France and are the result of a partnership with can maker Rexam.

Unlike most canned wines, the Wild Pelican range is entirely still, though a sparkling wine is scheduled for later this year.

The brand has been tested in ski resorts in the French Alps and is launching this spring and summer in the UK, Scandinavia and Benelux countries. The product is aimed at both on and off-trade customers. ...
