Cabanne leaves AGBP4.3m estate Thierry Cabanne, who died in a car accident last year, left an estate of almost AGBP4.3 million. The founder and chairman of Thierry's Wines Services will be honoured with an award named after him in the International Wine Challenge - the last event he attended before his death, aged 62. His other business interests were connected with Horsefair, a company set up in 1990 marketing equine care products.
UK embraces Austrian wine Austrian wine exports grew 30% to E105Amillion in 2007, with the UK showing "enormous growth", the Austrian Wine Marketing Board has said. Austrian wine sales in the UK off-trade reached AGBP481,000 in the year to Nov 2007, according to Nielsen. The country has one of the highest average bottle prices in the market at AGBP7.14.
