Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal plans to investigate Purdue Pharma for possible antitrust violations involving its painkiller OxyContin, and is organizing other states to do the same, The New York Times reported. Plans for the investigation come after a federal judge found that patents protecting OxyContin were invalid because Purdue Pharma had misled the patent office (see ADAW, Jan. 12).
