Could you send a toaster speeding down a race track, powered by a belt sander? Or graft a motor to a wheelbarrow for the world's fastest barrow ride? These are just some of the entries in last year's Silverline Power Tool Drag Racing Day at the Haynes International Motor Museum in Somerset.
And this year's contest on Sunday, August 10, once again tests the ingenuity of those itching to turn a humble kitchen appliance or power tool into a speed machine. Entrants have previously include engineering students, DIY enthusiasts and builders, armed only with bags of ingenuity and a great idea.
