Over half UK businesses predict job cuts, says survey.

MORE than half of UK businesses said they planned job cuts according to the KPMG quarterly National Business Confidence Survey.

Researchers interviewed senior executives at 203 public and private organisations over a four-week period. And 53 per cent said they wanted to reduce jobs. A similar number planned to freeze recruitment.

The situation has deteriorated dramatically since March when only 29 per cent of the same organisations planned to slash jobs.
