A van driver who saved the life of the victim of a frenzied knife attack will be honoured for his bravery today.
Michael Morgan, 51, of Henbury, Bristol, came to the rescue of Kelly Parker as she was attacked in Worle High Street, Weston-super-Mare.
At about 7.30am on Saturday, April 14, 2007, Mr Morgan was completing his deliveries in the area.
As he returned to his vehicle and pulled onto the road he noticed two people on bicycles riding towards him on the wrong side of the road. He then saw the male cyclist push the female cyclist off her bike and onto the pavement before attacking her.
Without any thought for his own safety Mr Morgan got back out of his van and managed to push the attacker away.
