(From Western Daily Press)
Gloucestershire were left to rue an early batting collapse as Yorkshire reached the Friends Provident Trophy semi-finals with a six-wicket victory at Bristol.
The county's powerful batting unit had been outstanding in the group matches and raised the prospect of Gloucestershire contesting a Lord's final this year for the first time since 2004.
But those hopes all but disappeared when Gloucestershire slumped to 50-6 against the bowling of Tim Bresnan and Matthew Hoggard, who marked his return from a broken thumb with a haul of 3-26 and his best one day figures in six years.
Superb half-centuries from Chris Taylor and Steve Adshead lifted Gloucestershire's total to 201, but Yorkshire overcame a nervous middle part to their innings to eventually win with 5.5 overs to spare.
Jon Lewis and Mark Hardinges did their best to pull off an unlikely victory for Gloucestershire by taking two wickets apiece in 20 combined overs which cost just 57 runs.
Lewis bowled Andrew Gale with the new ball and returned later to end Craig White's patient innings of 55 thanks to a catch by Hardinges at mid-on.
