(From Western Daily Press)
Somerset and Kent will try to play their Friends Provident Trophy quarter-final against Kent this lunchtime.
All hope of a start at Canterbury was abandoned at 10am yesterday and the teams will, weather-permitting, do battle at the home club's outground of Beckenham at noon.
A flash storm on Tuesday evening put the St Lawrence ground under water and further rain during the night killed off the prospects.
The natural slope of the field meant that the water got under the covers making play yesterday impossible.
Somerset seamer Charl Willoughby said: "It was unbelievable. We were at the ground last night to drop our kit off and we left and it was dry and we saw some pictures on the website later on and it was under water 15 minutes later.
"There is nothing we can do about it. We just have to stay positive and focussed on the game because it is so important."
