Sir Michael Parkinson has defended his personal assistant's decision to sell photos of her wedding to Peter Phillips to a glossy magazine.
Hello! is rumoured to have paid GBP500,000 for pictures of last month's royal wedding of the Queen's grandson and his Canadian bride Autumn Kelly.
The couple's decision caused criticism of the Royal Family, who were accused of a serious error of judgment and being greedy.
But Sir Michael, who made his comments after receiving his knighthood from the Queen at Buckingham Palace, said the couple had done nothing wrong.
He said: "I don't think it was the wrong decision, what's wrong with it? She's happy with it, it's a beat up story in the media."
Examining his knighthood for the first time, Sir Michael joked "It'll be on eBay tonight!" ...
