(From Western Daily Press)
Richard Hill is embarking on a working holiday in South Africa in an attempt to get a head-start when it comes to understanding rugby's forthcoming law changes.
The much-debated Experimental Law Variations (ELVs) will be trialled across the world for one year from August 1, having been used in the most recent Super 14 competition.
And Bristol head coach Hill, along with fellow coaches Paul Hull and John Brain, has flown to Cape Town to work with Western Province on the new laws.
While there, Hill hopes to gain a thorough understanding of the changes ahead of his side's next Guinness Premiership campaign, which kicks off in September.
"We are going over to South Africa to try and study the new laws, so it's a bit of busman's holiday for us," said Hill.
"We have planned in a bit of time working with Western Province in Cape Town and then at the end of it we are going to watch Wales play the Springboks in Bloemfontein.
