Research reveals that many people are quite concerned about how they will be treated by society after they reach the age of 65.
Too often, older people are disregarded and are frequently the butt of jokes and disparaging remarks.
However, ageism is far more than a joke. The daily reality can often mean the difference between life and death. As long as age discrimination is legal, older people can be denied access to medical treatment and many other services, simply because they are "too old".
