(From Western Daily Press)
What a feeling it is to be top of the County Championship after five games! There's a long way to go, but Somerset history could be in the making this summer.
I'm sure our supporters are excited and I think they would be even more encouraged if they could see what is going on behind the scenes at Taunton.
This is definitely the hardest-working Somerset squad I have been associated with and there is no chance of resting on any laurels with Andy Hurry and Justin Langer around.
The coach and captain make sure we not only practise for longer, but also that there is an intensity to the training to make us a harder and more professional unit on the field.
We are playing really good cricket, our work ethic is fantastic and we are where we are despite the fact that Andy Caddick has yet to play a game for us this season.
Last summer we got better and better as the campaign went along and I am sure that was a result of the hard graft put in between matches.
