My Piano, The Fun Way to Learn, is an interactive software program designed for ages 6 and older. It works on both Macintosh and Windows platforms and can be used either with or without a MIDI keyboard. This software is pedagogically similar to method books, beginning with finger numbers and topography of the keyboard and ending with playing short pieces involving two hands.

Features of the program include a cartoon piano, "Pam the Piano," who speaks instructions. Additional instructions can be found in the video files, with explanations and demonstrations by Irene Justicia. Options within each lesson include viewing a virtual keyboard showing finger numbers and keys and playing either a piano demonstration (and sung lyrics if present) or a more elaborate MIDI orchestration arrangement. The speed of the MIDI files can be adjusted for practice and performance tempi. Counts are written in below the finger numbers, in different font colors.

There were several aspects of the program that I thoroughly enjoyed. The ear training lessons and games within each chapter are well thought out and engaging. These games provide immediate feedback and scores. If you have a MIDI keyboard in your teaching studio, you can use a USB/MIDI cable to connect your keyboard to your computer.
