This wonderful collection of duets focuses on titles descriptive of the months of the year. The title of each work, January through December, highlights "an activity, scene, or sentiment characteristic of the season in which that month is found." For instance, January is titled "Winter Wind," June is titled "Kite Flying" and October is "Dancing Leaves." The score is laid out clearly with not more than four staves per page.
This late-elementary collection is written mostly in set hand positions with a few shifts or finger crossings. In some cases, either the primo or secondo part can be used alone as a solo piece.
