Since 2005, college and university faculty have had the option to become a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Administrative Verification option.

"Administrative Verification was developed because faculty members had expressed concern that their credentials were not recognized in the certification program's requirements, explains MTNA Executive Director/CEO Gary Ingle. "This option takes advantage of the evaluation processes and credentials that already are in place at colleges and universities.

College faculty certification is a two-step process.

1. Complete and submit a certification application packet, which includes:

a. Application form with appropriate fee

b. Copies of official college/university transcript(s)

c. Transcript Evaluation Form
